Oakwood University used to teach correct Seventh-day Adventist doctrine and standards. Now, the university brags about such things as its collaboration with large companies that produce equipment for war. In addition, its alumni association sponsors and brings in actors and worldly musicians to entertain. These are only a couple of recent examples of a prideful downward spiral fostered by such things as competition, pageantry, and a hunger for awards and worldly recognition.
