My friend and sister in Christ, Laura Quintero and I, Carmen Jimenez, have united to testify on how God gave us confirmation that Ernie Knoll is His true prophet.

During the fall of 2009, after we found out that brother Knoll created the fictitious character of Candace and the Great Commission Council in his effort to prove to the church that his dreams were from God, Laura and I felt deeply saddened and confused.

We had previously proved the dreams with the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy, and we couldn’t find any discrepancy in them. We were certain that God was the author of them, and in that way when we read them we felt joy, hope, comfort, and the assurance of the imminent Second Coming of Jesus. This encouraged us to study the Word of God and the Testimonies more to get to know Jesus closer.

Remembering what is written in Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” and also remembering the way in which the greatest men of God sinned after being chosen and anointed by Him to be in His service, (ex. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, John, Peter, etc.) and how God forgave and restored them in their previous mission, we decided to test God so that He could give us evidences that Ernie Knoll was His chosen prophet and had been forgiven and restored by God.

Each of us asked God in a secret prayer for specific evidence that would prove without any doubt that brother Knoll was His prophet. We realized that if He had chosen him, we had the duty to believe and to act according to the messages that God was sending him to prepare us to be His witnesses.

I went on my knees before God, and without moving my lips, I told Him that after I finished praying I would take the Bible and as I opened it for Him to allow me to find the word “prophet” once; in any of the two pages in front of me. After I finished the prayer, I opened the Bible and started to read it. Suddenly the word “prophet” came into view. I reviewed the page next to it, and it was not written on that one. I repeated the prayer, and at that time I opened the Bible in a different book, and the result was the same.

The next day I presented myself again in prayer before God, and I made the same petition. On two more occasions, God answered the same way. A few days went by and I presented myself before God once more. I asked that He forgive me for my persistence, and I told him that this time I would use the Spirit of Prophecy for confirmation. I took two different books, and as I opened them, the word “prophet” was written once more on one of the two pages.

The next Saturday afternoon, I looked for a daily devotional book. I found one that was written in 1975 (The Wonders of the Creation). I got on my knees and asked God for forgiveness once more. I told Him that this would be the seventh and last time that I would ask Him. I told Him that this time I would use the devotional book instead, and that if He confirmed once more that Ernie Knoll was His prophet that I would believe beyond all doubt and I would never ask Him again.

I thought that it would be very difficult for the word “prophet” to appear in this devotional, since the book only talked about nature and animals. As I opened the book, many pages slipped through my fingers. Once I stopped and starting reading, I read the word “prophet” on one page. I was very excited and thanked God for His patience and for answering my petition.

The next Friday I saw Laura, and I told her the way that God had answered me. I told her that I was sure that God had forgiven and restored Brother Ernie Knoll as His prophet. I asked her if God had also answered her petition. Laura answered no. She said that what she had asked God was very difficult and that it would take a lot longer to answer.

Many weeks later, I felt the sudden urge to write Brother Knoll an email. I had never written an email before. I told him to continue on his path. I told him that I did not condemn him and for him to go and sin no more.

Brother Knoll replied telling me how sad he had been. He said that he had asked God for forgiveness but that he did not feel forgiven. He told me that God had given him a dream in which he heard someone singing, and as he looked up he saw many angels singing that how even though he had fallen, God had forgiven him and welcomed him back.

That week when I saw Laura again I told her what had happened. When I finished telling her my story Laura said to me, “Carmen, God has answered me, and Ernie Knoll is God’s true prophet.” I asked her to tell me what proof she had asked God for and why it had taken so long to answer. Laura replied, “I asked God that if Brother Ernie Knoll was His true prophet, that He would allow him to repent, and that you would write him an email and he would reply telling you that he had repented. I asked that he ask God for forgiveness and that God give him a dream saying that he had been forgiven, and that it be you who would come and tell me.” Glory to God!

I cannot express the solemn amazement and immense gratitude that I felt to see how our God, so holy and sublime, would condescend to respond to our sincere prayers to confirm without a doubt that brother Ernie Knoll is His chosen and anointed prophet to send us these messages of love, admonition, and preparation for Christ’s glorious second coming.
